That Vintage Eyewear. . . making a comeback?! From the 50’s….. 80’s and now in 2013!

The term vintage is “characterized by excellence, maturity and enduring appeal;
                                                    CLASSIC.
A vintage style is known as being retro, modern, classic and old–fashioned.  In the article “ Eyeglasses a new fashion essential” explains how glasses have gone from a “ nerd necessity to chic accessory”.

In the 1950’s when Marilyn Monroe was a well admired American actress, model, and singer to the 1980’s when Darryl (DMC) McDaniels from RUN–DMC an American musician known as a pioneer of hip–hop culture.

Marilyn Monroe showcased wearing lovely cat eyed spectacles.

In the previous photograph Marilyn Monroe is captured wearing a vintage style of glasses. Prada and Ray bans make a similar collection of these stylish and classy frames.

Glasses has become and known as a high end European luxury that has been in fashion for years. It seems as if in this century it really has became a hit in the fashion industry from many designers and manufacturers.
                                        Lets take a look. . . . .

                                  Remember Darryl McDaniels from Run–DMC?
Back in the 1980’s he wore this classics known as Cazals because he needed glasses and wanted to also make a fashion statement while rocking them as well. Cazals have come along way from DMC wearing them to now JAY–Z, Rick Ross, Rihanna, and to Brad Pitt wearing them as a fashion sense.

Nowadays people are simply wearing glasses as a fashion trend and accessory to help showcase their outfits. In the style section of NY Times the company Retrospecs & Co. explained that “ frames are as much about fashion as function” meaning people make them out to be a necessity for their outfit. Is it really that serious? Well as far as fashion goes many can argue that yes indeed is it!
